Bertling Enviro and E.ON entered into collaboration in 2016 when RDF was delivered to the incineration plant in Händelö in Norrköping. A few years later, when E.ON built their facility in Högbytorp outside Stockholm, Bertling Enviro got the opportunity to also provide this new facility with fuel.
As one of E.ON’s strategic goals is to decrease their emission with 50% by 2025, they initiated that they together with Bertling Enviro should find a more sustainable transport solution from Gävle port to the new plant in Högbytorp.
Bertling Enviro gladly accepted the challenge and began to search for solutions. We found that the best solution was to go by rail from Gävle port to Rosersberg, and thereafter go from Rosersberg to Högbytorp by truck. The proposal was sent to E.ON and we concluded that we should go for the rail solution as the truck transportation had larger environmental impact.
