At Bertling Enviro, we're proud to announce our new circular collaboration with Tekniska Verken Linköping (TVL) and Skaraslättens Transport to collectively work on reducing CO2 emissions from our transport operations.
As part of this collaboration, Skaraslättens Transport has invested in two biogas-powered trucks, now proudly branded with our logos. These trucks will transport waste to TVL, where it is converted into district heating, an important step in circular resource utilization.

Here’s the clever part: TVL doesn’t just produce district heating from the waste we deliver. They also use their biogas production facility to generate the biogas that powers the trucks transporting the waste. This creates a circular process where both energy and transportation remain part of the same sustainable system.
With biogas as fuel, each container transport reduces CO2 emissions by 100.21 kg compared to diesel. In 2025, we expect to conduct 2,000 transports, leading to a total reduction of 200,420 kg of CO2.
To put this into perspective, our CO2 savings are equivalent to:
- 1,666,667 km of car travel or driving 42 laps around the Earth.
- About 333 round-trip flights between Stockholm and New York.
- The annual energy consumption of 100 Swedish homes.
About Our Partners

Benefits of Biogas
- Biogas provides high energy output with minimal environmental impact.
- It is a renewable energy source that can replace oil and coal.
- It does not contribute to net CO2 emissions when burned.
- Using biogas as a substitute for fossil fuels reduces CO2 emissions by up to 95%.
- Biogas-powered vehicles emit the lowest levels of CO2, particulates, and nitrogen oxides compared to all other fuels on the market today.
